I am Amit Saini, currently a 3rd-year student in the chemical department.
About the Internship
The company I interned at is Alpha Alternatives, it is an asset management company and a decent firm, it was a 2.5-month internship in the Quant team of the Commodities section.
Apping Process
My internship journey started back in November when I started apping for companies, particularly in the finance domain, I did apply to various companies but I was actually a bit late to start and as a result, I didn't receive any positive response from companies. Although I had made up my mind to not do any winter internship as I was involved in working for IBs, so I started apping for summer intern around mid of Jan and I actually received 2 offers one was unpaid, and the other was paid so I chose the latter one.
My Sophomore Year and Advice for Current Sophies
I was convener of the Aeromodelling club and I did projects like WIDS, Financial modeling, RC cockpit, etc, I don't think POR affect much outside IITB and I feel they took me because of WIDS and financial modeling projects in my resume majorly, My advice will be to start early, and be patient and consistent
